East Carolina University celebrates Pirate Nation Gives — our ninth annual day of giving. Pirate Nation Gives is a celebration of ECU — our students, faculty, programs, outreach, and research — all made possible through financial support from donors like you.

Your support helps current and future Pirates in eastern North Carolina and around the world.

Each donation enables us to continue our mission to support Pirates in all parts of their writing at East Carolina University.

 

What do we do with your donation dollars?

University Writing Center

We at the UWC consider the writing center space as an incubation space for future leaders, and seek to create research and presentation opportunities for our student consultants, which is only possible through the generous donations of those that believe in our mission to support every Pirate writer.

the UWC supports students as writers and researcher and a note about how donations support our undergraduate and graduate students in conducting research and presenting their work at conferences – through that, students develop both writing and research skills and leadership skills as they take ownership of their ideas and share those with the world
Writing Across the Curriculum

At ECU, our WAC program encourages faculty engage with students in Writing Intensive courses through three interconnected approaches that increase the use and value of writing for students: writing to learn, writing to engage, and writing in the disciplines.

Writing Across the Curriculum is supporting faculty researchers through writing retreats – these annual events offer faculty valuable space time and space to complete grant applications, research articles, and book projects; through these targeted investments, faculty are earning millions in research grants that come back to Eastern NC and ECU and support ongoing research in health, medicine, education, and the humanities.
