Writing Consultations

The University Writing Center (UWC) offers students, faculty, and staff writers 45-minute face-to-face and online appointments with highly trained undergraduate and graduate writing consultants. We support any type of writing at any stage in the writing process. Though we offer support developing your text, we do not offer proofreading or editing services; we are, however, excited to facilitate an engaging learning experience.

Writing Mentors

The Writing Mentors program provides individualized support to upper-division WI courses. Writing Mentors are undergraduate and graduate consultants embedded or paired with faculty teaching upper-division WI courses. Individualized support takes multiple forms dependent on the course, course delivery, and schedule.

Classroom Visits & Workshops

For faculty, we offer 30-45 minute writing workshops about writing topics you think would benefit your students. Past workshops have covered topics such as Writing as a Process, APA Style, MLA Style, Literature Reviews & Synthesis, Academic Integrity, etc. During a workshop, one of our staff members will facilitate a presentation and /or activity with your class or group; we can also provide a 10-15 minute “Intro to the UWC” visit that introduces students to the services we offer and explains how writers can schedule an appointment. We can come to you or you can come to us.
