Writing as a Process
This Canvas-based module introduces writers to the six-steps of the writing process: brainstorming, research, outlining, revising, and editing/proofreading. As writers progress through the module, they are introduced to the process of thinking about a topic to using academic research to organizing research and drafting. Throughout the module, writers are asked to reflect, free-write and begin to create their own writing process journey. By the end of the module, writers should be able to
- Identify the six steps of the writing process
- Articulate why writers approach writing as a process
- Apply a process approach to their own writing assignments
This module is geared toward first- and second-year courses, and can be directly imported into your canvas courses. The assignments and discussion boards within the modules should be scored by the instructor.
