WAC Committee

Writing Across the Curriculum is a faculty-driven and faculty-led project. All curricular decisions for writing intensive courses are made by the Writing Across the Curriculum Committee, a standing committee of ECU’s Faculty Senate. The WAC Committee reviews and approves proposals for writing-intensive courses, makes recommendations to the Faculty Senate regarding proposals carrying the writing intensive designation, and reports those recommendations to the University Curriculum Committee. The WAC Committee is also charged with assessing the effectiveness of the WAC program at ECU.

If you want to be part of this great work, look for the Faculty Senate call each spring to serve on campus committees. The committee works best when it has a diverse group of faculty from many different disciplines working together to make sure the WAC curriculum is meeting the needs of all our students.
